Sap from Trees

 

 

The first step in making Maple Syrup is collecting sap.  Any Hard, or Sugar Maple tree at least nine inches in diameter can support one tap.  For each additional three inches of diameter, it can support an additional tap

While sap can be collected in buckets, most operations today use tubing systems.
